What is Forumtec’s Balanced Force Adaptive Technique (BLF) ?
The Balanced Force Adaptive (BLF) technique is a patented algorithm by Forumtec. In the BLF working mode the file performs a precisely controlled watch-winding motion, rotating back and forth with equal amplitudes, alternating between clockwise and counterclockwise rotations.
This motion is repeated in several steps, increasing the amplitude with each cycle until the entire circumference of the canal is effectively covered.
It automatically adjusts both the rotational speed and the rotational angle in response to real-time canal conditions.
Which type of files are compatible with the Balanced Force Adaptive Technique mode?
BLF mode is compatible with a variety of file types, including those designed for glide path creation, shaping, and reciprocation. However, for optimal results, use small taper files, as the system detects torque primarily at the narrow part of the file rather than the coronal portion.
What is the correct way to operate the Balanced Force Adaptive working mode?
Maintain a continuous pecking motion. Avoid applying excessive force on the file. The weight of the motor itself provides the necessary pecking force, ensuring smooth and efficient canal preparation. Withdraw the file frequently and clean the debris from the flutes.
What are the advantages of using the BLF mode?
This technique is especially beneficial in complex cases, such as curved or narrow canals, and provides the following advantages:

-Enhanced Control- Eliminates the screw-in effect, reducing the risk of file jamming and separation.

-Improved Efficiency- Facilitates canal negotiation and preparation with reduced apical extrusion compared to other techniques.

Are the speed, torque and angle settings adjustable by the user when working in BLF mode?
No, in BLF mode there is no need to adjust speed, torque and angle settings. The system automatically adapts speed, torque, and the extent of the watch-winding rotation based on real-time canal anatomy and clinical conditions.
